This week’s tips are focused helping you to create your productive mindset for success, from the minute you wake up.
Every Tuesday I will share 3 Tips to help you increase your Productivity, some you will like, some you won’t. Your key to success and ruthless productivity is to do more of what works and less of what doesn’t.
The amazing thing about the human race is that EVERYONE is different, and has a unique approach…do what works for you!
1. You are what you eat
Your body is the reason that you can do what you do, day-in-day-out. Prioritise eating well to ensure you can go on doing that for as long as possible. Start by eating what your body craves it knows what you need. If it craves sugar, high fat, processed food, coffee etc look at your life. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you stress eating? Are you on a habit rollercoaster? Breaking a food habit takes 24 hours (cold turkey), plus 24 hours to adjust…by day 3 you will be able to tell what your body really needs. Easy no, worth it, yes…you only get one body!
2. Productivity requires planning
Friday afternoon is a great day to review the past week and plan for the week coming. Review those plans on Sunday afternoon/evening (have an hour of power work) and create your to-do list for the following day. The tasks that you will fit around any meetings and projects that you are working on. Keep plans short and to the point.
3. Create your to-do list the night before
That way when the alarm goes off you know exactly what you have planned for the day (it will make it much easier to get up straight away). Keep the list short, 3-5 tasks per day maximum. Productivity is about ensuring you manage your energy over the long-term, running a business is a marathon, not a sprint. We are not designed to ‘hustle and grind’ 18 hours a day for long periods of time, that is a one-way ticket to burnout, and or disillusionment with the results. It matters how you earn your money. We are born to live, love, and laugh not work our fingers to the bone…not anymore anyway thankfully the world has moved on for us at least. Make sure you enjoy what you do, and how you do it!
