7 ESSENTIAL BOOKS TO READ

BUSINESS START-UP ESSENTIAL READING LIST - Abigail BarnesIn this post I want to recommend the top 7 books that I read when I wanted to make my leap into self employment from the corporate world, and the books that I read when I was first starting out in business.

Recommended Reading:

  1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  2. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter
  3. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  4. Manual of the Warrior of Light by Paulo Coelho
  5. Blink by Malcom Gladwell
  6. The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield
  7. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey

I continue to read at least 1-book per month and will create further posts about the books that I believe are relevant for the next stages of the business journey, as well as posts about the video’s that inspire me, keep me informed and help keep me motivated.

These books are the foundation for an effective mindset, my list excludes books that either take too long to read, miss-sell how ‘easy’ it is to get started and to create a sustainable business, and are too focused on one person’s journey that was made possible by the circumstances that existed at that time, but do not exist now.  It is not to say that there are not other books that you could read, but being a Clarity Business Coach with a focus on Time Management I recommend what I do to save you time and get you clarity as quickly as possible.

These books will help you get clear on what you want to do, and why you want to do it.  They are foundational reading if you like and the order I have listed them in will help your journey to evolve in the most logical way.
